The Materialists
A Royal College of Art symposium exploring regenerative, circular and experimental approaches to materials, with Dr Ehab Sayed among the speakers.
Organised by Flora McLean, The Materialists brought together practitioners from industry, research and design to exchange approaches to material making. The October 2021 symposium connected six themes, including grown, woven and moulded materials, with questions of reuse, experimentation and collaboration across disciplines. Its presentations contributed to a shared materials archive intended to support further research and teaching.
